Champagne CH de L’Auche Brut Sélection NV – a champagne with character
Deep and decadent, Champagne CH de L’Auche Brut Sélection NV is a full-bodied, complex Blancs de Noirs. Created from the historic terroirs of the Montagne de Reims, this is a robust wine with a brilliant golden hue. It fizzes with intense fruity flavours and boasts a creamy, silky texture.

Tasting notes
Once uncorked, you will enjoy delectable notes of juicy pear, apricot, and red berry tones, underpinned by cellar-matured aromas of hazelnut and fresh bread. The texture is creamy and full bodied with well-balanced acidity and plenty of tiny bubbles. The finish is moreish, balanced, and crisp.

This is a highly versatile, food-friendly champagne which can accompany canapés, mushroom based starters, cheese, and all manner of poultry dishes. Although, simply sipping it as an aperitif works very well too.

The story of Champagne CH. de L’AUCHE is also the history of the Maison des Vignerons de Germigny, Janvry, Rosnay, founded in 1961. The adventure began when seven independent winegrowers pooled their resources to buy a Dollat press, still in use today. Their aim was to celebrate the local terroir, just west of Reims, and create a range of Blanc de Noirs champagnes from their vineyards that are mostly planted with Pinot Meunier.
Today sixty winegrowers work 115 hectares spread over 40 vineyards covering 40 different crus, of which five are classified as Premier Cru. The co-operative members remain passionate in their respect for nature, their heritage and sustainably crafted champagne. The cellar master says: “We ‘listen’ to our wines, giving our champagnes the time to reach full maturity in our dark cellars, leaving them to age for longer than required by Appellation regulations, so that we can offer perfectly accomplished, balanced, and generous cuvées.
Blanc de Noirs
The name ‘Blanc de Noirs’ translates from the French as ‘white from black’. It is a champagne made only from red grape varieties such as Pinot Noir and Meunier, a distinctive red varietal. During the pressing stage, contact between the skins and juice is minimised to avoid colouring. Blanc de Noirs is becoming an increasingly important category, especially for lovers of full-bodied champagnes. have what is known as ‘vinosity’. A vinous champagne is a wine with a powerful body.
