With this big focus on the need to reduce plastic pollution, we thought we’d tell you how we make our packaging as recyclable and environmentally friendly as possible.
Sustainability is important to Wines Select
Our wine and Champagne gift packaging needs to take into account appearance, protection and sustainability. So, we’re continually seeking out the best plastic-free solutions that won’t sacrifice durability or style.
In the past year we have sourced custom-made cardboard outers to ensure there is no unnecessary empty space within the box. Made to measure packaging provides better protection for the wine bottle and reduces the need for any plastic void bags and bubble wrap. The cardboard outer can then be easily recycled.
Our wooden bottle boxes are made from FSC approved pine timber and come from sustainable sources, and the wood wool shred inside is 100% biodegradable.
Our wooden gift boxes are often re-gifted too with a new bottle of wine inside; or many are reused as on-trend containers for spices or plants.
If your budget does not allow for wooden wine boxes our Polysafe range is an ideal option. This material provides excellent protection and does not use chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) or other “greenhouse” gases which are believed to damage the ozone layer and can be cost-effectively recycled.
